A couple of weeks ago we were talking to the Fagans about how fun it would be to do a trip without our kids. Everything just fell into place - we were able to arrange it with grandparents, the La Jolla condo was available, and we were even able to get free tickets to Disneyland. Seriously...this trip was the BEST! And the cherry on the sundae of it all: Jack was AWESOME for my parents...yay! (This was the first time we had left him for longer than a few hours, and I was a bit nervous about it, but he did great!)
Thursday, once Adam and Trevor got off work, we headed down to California. My parents live in Pasadena, so we took a little detour and dropped Jack off. A few tears later (mine), and we were on our way! Kid free for a long weekend!
Friday morning, we woke up, got ready and headed up to Disneyland. Seriously...the happiest place on Earth. It was SO much fun! Get ready for SERIOUS picture overload:
This is us in line for Space Mountain. I don't know if you can really call it a line, we just had to walk through the line, it was only like a 5 minute wait. This was the first ride we went on...can you tell how excited we are!?!?!

Riding Space Mountain....again! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Saturday morning we slept in and then spent the rest of the day exploring tide pools, shopping, hanging out at the beach, and playing games. It was so nice to just relax that whole day.

Sunday was spent packing up and heading home. I was sad to see the trip end, but so excited to have my little Jack back!

This past weekend we went to Brian Head, Utah with our BFF's (and neighbors), the Fagans. We had SUCH A BLAST! The weather was SO nice...I want to move there.
Our first stop was to this awesome park in Cedar City. It was probably the nicest park I've ever been to, and Jack had such a fun time exploring.
Our next stop was to good old Pizza Factory. I don't think I can go to Cedar (or anywhere that has a Pizza Factory) and not stop. I am a sucker for those breadsticks. Unfortunately, this was not the best Pizza Factory experience. The hostess STUNK (not literally), and skipped over our name while we were outside because the lobby was packed. Then she put us back at the bottom of the list. Needless to say, it took forever to get seated. Then I got my treasured breadstick, and there was hardly any buttery/garlicy goodness on it. Sad! At least our waitress was nice and the pizza was good.
We got to the condo, which was the perfect set-up. We could each put our kids to bed and still stay up to play games and hang out in the living room. Plus, the bedroom closet was the perfect size for a pack-n-play so Jack was in the room with us, but couldn't see us if he woke up in the middle of the night.
The next morning we headed out to do some exploring. We stopped at the Chessmen Ridge Overlook to get a look at Cedar Breaks. It's awesome. I'd never been there before, and I was not expecting to see something like Cedar Breaks in the middle of all of those trees. Beautiful...

Me and my cute husband in the back of the LR3 (my next car...I wish!)
Next we headed back on some trails to find a good picnic spot. We finally found a great clearing and set up our picnic. After some exploring, we made some good old PB&Js and started to eat when we heard a low "mooooo." We turned and saw that 5 cows had joined us! (I had actually been joking about that earlier, because we had seen cows here and there as we drove along the trails.)
Jack seems facinated by Callie. Maybe he needs a sibling...
The men! (Jack and Alex have matching jammies)Yep, that is a cookie s'more. YUMMY!Adam enjoying his cookie s'more. Don't be jealous ladies...he's all mine! (Sidenote: he did smoosh the cookie all over his face and make that face for the picture)
We slept (while visions of cookie s'mores danced in our heads), and when we got up it was time for more exploring! We checked out Brian Head Peak, first. There was such an awesome view up there...but man was it cold!
