5 on Friday

So...I missed last week's post ('cuz I was in Utah with my sisters - SO much fun!)...so here's my faves from the last 2 weeks:

5.  THE HUNGER GAMES!!!  I really liked it.  There were a few things I wish they hadn't changed from the book, but overall I thought it was really good (in fact, Adam and I are going to see it tomorrow for date night).
4.  Enjoying the beautiful weather.  It's already getting almost too warm (I had to turn the A/C on today - boo), but it's been mostly pleasant to be outside and we've been taking full advantage of that!
3.  Watching Jack play t-ball.  It gets a LITTLE frustrating for me sometimes, 'cuz he's a little "unfocused" out on the field sometimes (like at yesterday's game when he took a pocket full of sunflower seeds onto the field with him and spend the majority of an inning just eating them and not paying ANY attention to the game - sigh).  But mostly it's SUPER fun to watch, and he's having a great time and that's all that matters.

2.  Watching Owen play with "Purr" our adopted cat.  This cat practically lives at our house...she's constantly in the backyard and trying to sneak in the house when the boys leave the door open (I found her upstairs today).  I have no idea what her real name is ("Purr" was a nickname given to her by our neighbors, the Fagans and it's just stuck), or who her actual owners are, but we sure are going to miss her in a few weeks when we move.  She is the friendliest cat, constantly purring (hence the name), and the boys (Owen especially) just love her.  One of the times she snuck in the house today, I told Owen to take her back outside and he got down on all fours and started meowing at her and crawling towards the door (like he was trying to talk to her).  It was so stinkin' adorable.
1.  My boys' relationship.  They are BEST friends and have so much fun together most of the time.  I LOVE it.  Tonight they were playing and just cracking each other up, laughing SO hard.  And then at bedtime Owen requested the song "Families Can Be Together Forever" (or "Family" as he calls it) and Jack sang it with me while gently patting Owen's head.  It was such a tender moment that brought tears to my eyes.  I love those two boys and I'm SO lucky to be their mommy.

5 on Friday

Five more random things about our week:

5.  Adam's sisters, Amber & Amy, were in town this week with their kids.  It was fun to get to see all the cousins play together and interact, especially now that Daphne and Henry are getting older.  Sunday night we had family dinner and Owen and Daphne (Amy's almost 2 year old daughter) were playing together...SO cute!  Daphne was being kind of shy to everyone, but I went up to her and asked her if she wanted to go find Owen and she grabbed my hand to go look for him.  When she found him she grabbed his hand and they held hands walking back to where the toys were.  SO stinkin' cute!!!

All the Zockoll cousins at the park
4.  I had a craft/girls night with Alisa, Amy and Ashley last night.  I always have fun with those girls.
3.  Today Owen grabbed Adam's old iPhone and said, "Mommy, I send you a text."
2.  For our Mia Maids class activity on Wednesday we had a scavenger hunt around Target.  SO.MUCH.FUN.  I love my girls!
1.  Jack had Opening Ceremonies for his T-ball league tonight.  Adorable.  I love him in his little uniform.  He has his first game tomorrow and he's SO excited.  (So am I!)
(I promise you he's excited even if he doesn't look like it in this picture.)

5.  I bought the boys sunglasses at the mall.  They LOVE them.  Owen especially looks HILARIOUS in his 'cuz they cover about half of his face.
4.  I like to play, "Who do you love?" with Owen.  I'll say, "Owen, who do you love?"  For the past few weeks his standard answer has been, "Andew and Ashey."  Today he said, "I wuv YOU, Mommy!!!"
3.  Today Jack said, "Cantaloupe starts with C."  I asked him where he learned that and he said, "I learned it all myself."  (He says that anytime you ask him where he learned something you didn't realize he knew.)
2.  Jack is learning songs for his preschool graduation.  He's being very secretive about them, but every once in a while he'll start singing one out of the blue...SO cute!  At graduation, they wear tiny caps and gowns and sing songs...it is going to be ADORABLE.
1.  Adam has been out of town since EARLY Monday morning and is finally back.  We are all SO glad to have him home!  My boys were REALLY good this week, but it was just hard doing everything on my own, and my boys definitely missed Daddy.  I'm so lucky to have a wonderful husband who is so helpful and such a wonderful dad!

5.  Owen learned "The Wheels on the Bus."  ADORABLE.  My favorite part?  "The babies on the bus go waa, waa, waa..."
4.  Jack did chores today to earn video game time.  Awesome.  Even better?  He enjoyed it and asked for more chores to do tomorrow!
3.  I hung out with my sister-in-law while Jack had t-ball practice.  I love my family.
2.  LOVE this song:  Safe & Sound (Taylor Swift)
1.  Booked a flight to Utah to see The Hunger Games with my sisters.  I'm SO excited for a sisters weekend!  (And my husband is the BEST ever...it was his idea - love that guy!)

5.  Owen yelled to me, "Mommy, COME here.  I wannna give you kiss."
4.  Owen read "5 Little Monkeys jumping on the Bed."  He was making up pretend conversations between the monkeys and their mommy.  HILARIOUS.
3.  I loved listening to my boys make each other laugh SO hard in the car this evening.
2.  Jack comforted his little brother when Owen got scared watching "A Bugs Life." Love cute brotherly bonding moments.
1.  Read books and snuggled with two clean, sweet smelling boys after bath time.

Life is good.
