Grateful...

for sisters.  I had a bad day today.  Just one of those "everything-is-piling-up-on-me" kinda days.  Tons of little things kept happening that were bringing me further and further down.  I'm so glad that I have such wonderful sisters that will listen to my rants and that know just the right things to say to make me feel better.  Thanks Lexi and Alisa!

Family.  We spent a wonderful day enjoying family time and delicious food.  Perfect day.  I love this time of year.  I'm looking forward to many more fun filled family days to come.

Today I am thankful for...

A warm home.  It is really cold tonight.  Jack wanted to go for a walk (like he does almost every night).  We bundled up (coats, hats, boots) but after only a few minutes outside Jack was too cold and wanted to come home.  It was so nice to have a nice, warm home to come back to.

Today I am thankful for...

An unexpected day off.  Adam was scheduled to go to work today, but when he showed up he wasn't on the manager's schedule and they told him to go home since they were fully staffed.  It was nice to have him home an extra day this week, and allowed me to get a lot of stuff done so that we can have fun on his upcoming days off (instead of having to do chores).

Other people's blogs.  I have gotten so many yummy recipes, craft ideas, decorating ideas, tips and inspiration from other people's blogs.  I am so glad that people share their creations.  (I also ♥ Google Reader for making it easy for me to keep up with all of my favorite sites.)

A lazy day with my boys.  Adam had to go to a training at work today, and both boys have nasty coughs, so we couldn't go to church.  Instead we stayed home and were lazy all day.  We made hot cocoa...watched movies...snuggled...played in the playroom.  Ahhh...great day!

Date Night.  In an hour I get to go on a date with my cute husband to see the new Harry Potter movie.  Yay for date night!

Today I am thankful for...

Cousins.  I am so glad that my boys have cousins that are so close to their ages and that live minutes from our house.  Watching Jack and Parker have conversations is the funniest thing ever.  I can't wait to watch Owen and Noah start to interact more.

Today I am thankful for...

My washer and dryer.  Today is laundry day at the Zockoll's (which is pretty much every day - by the time I get everything washed, folded and put away there's already a pile waiting for me).  I can't even imagine how insurmountable a task my family's laundry would be without my washer and dryer!  (I am also in love with the delay start feature on my washer - I can get everything all loaded up right before I go to bed and set it to start in the morning so that it's all ready to be moved to the dryer when I wake up - because opening up a washer with clothes that have sat in there wet for too long - yuck!)

Today I am thankful for...

My Job.  It definitely stresses me out sometimes, but I am grateful that I have a job.  I am grateful that it has a flexible schedule so that Adam is always home with the boys when I go to work.  I am grateful that  I can do some work from home when the boys are sleeping (thank you gotomypc.com!).  I am grateful that it helps provide for my family.

Today I am thankful for...

Jack's Preschool.  Jack goes to preschool Tuesday and Thursdays for about 2 hours each day.  He comes home so excited to show me the new letter or number he learned and the craft he did.  He loves to sing the songs he learns at preschool (his latest song obsession is, "Going on a Bear Hunt"), and always reminds me that it's Show and Tell day on Thursday.  He LOVES preschool!

Today I am thankful for...

Adam's Work Schedule.  There are times it is difficult (juggling it with one car and not knowing his schedule very far in advance), but for the most part I love Adam's new schedule.  I love that he is generally home for most of the morning and that he has random days off, because it helps break up the week a little more.

Today I am thankful for...

Family Time.  Today we spent the morning exploring Red Rock Canyon.  We went on a little hike (that was perfect for the kids) and visited the new Visitor's Center.  It was so nice to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather.  It was lovely.  I already want to do it again.

Today I am thankful for...

Google. 
(Warning to my squeamish friends...this involves a mouth injury, read on at your own risk!)
Jack was playing around in his bedroom (when he was supposed to be going to bed) and somehow fell and hurt his mouth.  It was bleeding pretty bad.  Then I noticed that the little piece of tissue that connects his lip to his gums was no longer attached.  I started freaking out a little.  (It doesn't help that my car is about 25 minutes away with my husband at work right now, so I would have no way of getting him to the ER if I needed to.)  Thank heavens for Google.  After a quick search (in which I learned that piece if tissue is the upper labial frenulum), I also learned that this is a pretty common injury which pretty much never requires medical attention.  Phew.

(I am also thankful for Facebook friends who helped calm my still somewhat shaken nerves.)

Adam's job.  I love how everyday he is excited to tell me about how his day went.  He loves the company.  He loves his coworkers.  He loves his job.  It makes him happy.  I love that.

Nap Time.  Both boys took naps today (which is a rare occurrence over here since Jack has pretty much given up naps).  For about 2 hours my house was silent.  It was heaven.

Yes.  That is a Cocomotion.  With the weather getting colder, it is the most loved item in my kitchen.  It makes the BEST hot chocolate.  It can take a cocoa packet and turn it into magic.  And with this recipe?  Yum, yum, yum.

Today I am thankful for....

A husband who spent his first day off in 8 days watching the boys (so I could spend all day at work), cleaning toilets, folding laundry, doing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, washing our sheets and making the bed.  I'm a lucky girl.

Digital cameras.  This evening I was looking through iPhoto at the THOUSANDS of pictures I have of my boys, each with a memory attached to it.  It makes me realize how fast they're growing up.  Such bittersweet feelings.  Don't mind me.  I'm just going on a stroll down memory lane...
