I still can't believe that my little guy is turning into a little toddler. Seems like just yesterday he was a tiny, adorable, old man looking newborn. Sigh.
Owen at 15 months:
-weighs 18 pounds. Yeah. He's tiny. (I was the same weight when I was 15 months.) He's a pretty decent eater (usually better than Jack)...we have no idea where he puts it all.
-is 30 1/2 inches tall. He grew 3 1/2 inches since his one year appointment. Yay! At least he's not in the "under 5th percentile" for height anymore!
-is finally starting to talk. He says: Dada, Ni Ni ("night night"), Uh Oh, Ho Ho Ho, Nu Num (for food), Du Du (Thank You) and (occasionally) Mama and Bye Bye. He babbles a lot now too, and I can tell he's trying to say more words.
-loves to stand on the porch with Jack to wave and blow kisses when Adam is leaving for work.
-gives awesome wide open mouth kisses. Love it.
-still has NO teeth! I'm starting to get a little concerned...
-sleeps great. About 12 hours at night (usually 7:30 to 7:30) with a 3 hour nap (usually) during the day.
-will pant like a dog if you say, "Owee, where's the puppy?"
-loves the swings at the park. Adam took him to the park this morning and all he wanted to do was swing. For 40 minutes.
-is the cutest pirate EVER:

Owen is nine months!
Nine months ago, Owen looked like this:
So teeny, tiny
Today, Owen looks like this:
Enjoying feeding himself some lasagna - yum, yum.
I can't believe how big he's getting!
Some random things about Owen's ninth month:
*Owen LOVES food.
And he is SUCH a mooch.
Some of his favorite foods: mandarin oranges, lasagna, grilled teriyaki chicken (he eats this like candy), yogurt, and of course, ice cream sandwiches (he recognizes them and yells until he gets a bite).

If he sees you eating he'll crawl right over and yell at you until you feed him.
*Owen loves the song "Swing, Swing" by The All American Rejects.
Last week, Owen and I drove back from California with my sister Lexi and her baby Camryn.
It took us over 6 hours to get home.
Owen was NOT a fan.
He was crying, but when "Swing, Swing" came on he stopped crying. When the next song came on, he started crying again. When we put it back to "Swing, Swing" the crying once again stopped.
*Owen is at SUCH a fun age.
He LOVES to play and explore new things.
In fact, the baby gate is going back up on the stairs, because Mr. Owen is starting to climb.
Just this morning I caught him 5 steps up.

Owen is eight months!
Our little Owee is eight months old.
A few fun facts about Owen:
A few fun facts about Owen:
O LOVES big boy food. Since he's so mobile and into EVERYTHING, it's nice to be able to put him in his high chair for a few minutes with some puffs or a teething biscuit while I make dinner.
He's not picky. He'll eat pretty much anything.
His favorite foods are: sweet potatoes, lasagna soup, pasta salad, applesauce and
ice cream sandwiches.
Don't judge.
Last week Owen was sitting on my lap while I opened an ice cream sandwich to share with Jack. As soon as the wrapper was off, Owen grabbed it from my hands and put it right in his mouth. The sweet taste stuck in his mind, because he now gets excited when he sees an ice cream sandwich taken out of the freezer.
Who could say no to this cute face???
I even caught him STANDING without holding on to anything a few times yesterday.
Please slow down Owen...you're only 8 months old!
A few weeks ago Owen sported his first "faux hawk."
Too cute!
His hair has gotten SO long, I actually had to trim some off the top when I did his hair.
Owen LOVES to play with Jack.
He doesn't even mind when Jack sits on him yelling "Yee Haw!"
Don't you worry...he gets him back.
Owee wants to be just like the big boys.
He was sitting on the couch, but when he saw Jack cuddling with Daddy he had to get in on that too.

A few more things about Owen...
*He still has NO teeth.
*He still wakes up once (occasionally twice) a night. We cried it out with him for a week and a half and he was still waking up crying at least once a night. At least we broke him of the "up 4 times a night" habit!
*He gives kisses.
*He is a momma's boy.
(I ♥ it! Jack's always been a daddy's boy, so I love that Owen wants his mommy!)
We love little Oboe SO much!!!
I just can't believe how fast he's growing up.

Owen is six months!
Owen is still such a happy baby! It's pretty easy to get a smile or laugh out of him. In fact, Jack gets laughs out of him pretty regularly.
Owen is on the move. He crawls now. All. the. time.
(I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love that he can crawl around and play with Jack and keep himself entertained, but I hate that I can't leave him alone for more than a few seconds because he'll get into something. I didn't think I'd have to worry about that for at least another month!)
Our little O is still a little guy. At his 6 month appointment he weighed 13 lbs. 11 oz. and was 24 1/2 inches long. We like little over here though. So dang cute and easier to carry around! (My sister Amy gave him the onesie he's wearing. It says "Don't be fooled by my size." SO true!)
Owen also tries to stand now. Uh-oh. Sometimes he'll stop when he's crawling and push off on his feet. His newest thing is to hang on to something (like the basket in the picture above) and use it to help himself stand. I'm REALLY hoping I'm not posting that he's walking too soon!
A few more random things....
He started solid food the day after Christmas. It's taken a little time, but he loves it now. He really loves table food and snacks off our plates a lot.
He LOVES playing with toys. Christmas came at the perfect time for Owen, because he's just discovering toys. He's perfectly content crawling around on the floor playing with a basket of toys.
I still can't believe little Owen is 6 months old! He's such a joy and gets more and more fun each day. We love you, Owen!

Owen is five months!
He can't believe it either!
I TOTALLY slacked on Owen's 4 month post...so this is what Owen has been up to the past two months...
Owen is mobile! He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. He hasn't quite figured out crawling yet (thank heavens!), but between rolling and scooting he gets around! I now have to watch him all the time, because he's still not super steady and sometimes comes crashing down (on the linoleum if he's scooted that far!).
Owen has discovered his tongue, which makes for some awesome pictures...
He also blows "raspberries" all. day. long.
He also blows "raspberries" all. day. long.
Usually after I feed him in the morning (between 6 and 7) he'll snuggle with me in bed and we'll snooze a bit more. The other day I woke up a few minutes before him, looked over and he was blowing raspberries in his sleep!
All you have to do is look at him and his whole face lights up!
(He definitely "smizes" - for my ANTM girls!)
More random things about Owen...
*He's a TERRIBLE sleeper right now waking at LEAST twice a night (boo!). I know, I know...I should let him cry it out...but he's had his first cold PLUS I'm a sucker and I can't do it! He started off being such an awesome sleeper - I'm hoping one of these days he'll revert back to that!
*I haven't taken him to the doctor since he was 3 months, so I don't know his exact measurements...but he's still a LITTLE guy. Whenever anyone asks me how old he is and I tell them, the first thing they ALL say is, "He's sooooo little!"
*He loves playing in the playroom with Jack. I'll put him in his jumperoo and he jumps and watches Jack. They are so cute together. I love watching them interact.
*Owen LOVES looking at himself in the mirror. There's a mirror in the hall right outside his room and when he wakes up from naps we look at the baby in the mirror for a minute or two. He just smiles and smiles...
We're just SO glad that he's a part of our family!

Owen is three months!
Where has the time gone?
Some random things about Owen at three months:
*I took Owen to the doctor yesterday for a well check. He now weighs 11 lbs. 10 oz. Unfortunately I was trying to keep Jack from running all over the office when they measured his length, so I don't know what it is!
*Owen is a finger sucker and I LOVE it! He is constantly chewing and sucking on his hands, but when he goes to sleep he sucks his left index finger. So cute!
*Owen has started laughing more. He's not a performer though. If you try to get him to laugh for someone he just stares at you like you're crazy.
*Owen is back to being a good sleeper. For a couple of weeks he was back to waking up 2 times a night (YUCK!), but for the past week he's done at LEAST 8 hour stretches, and the past two nights have been 11 1/2 hours. (Jack doesn't even sleep that long!)
*Owen LOVES water. A few days ago he was having a rough day - he was refusing to nap and was just super fussy. At one point he wouldn't stop crying and I decided to put him in the sink filled with water. He immediately calmed down and fell asleep shortly after I got him out.
*Owen can now roll both from back to tummy and tummy to back. He's not really using it to get around much, but if he gets sick of the position he's in he'll roll over.
*Owen is such a cute, happy little guy and we're so glad that he's a part of our family!

Owen is two months!
A few random things about Owen's 2nd month...
*Owen is a very wiggly sleeper. He often ends up in VERY different positions and locations from how he started.
*Owen went from being a good traveler to a HORRIBLE traveler. He would literally scream bloody murder the entire time he was in the car. The past few days he seems to be growing out of this phase though (knock on wood!)...
*Owen is a pretty serious baby. Most of the time he has a slightly worried look on his cute little face. He is the happiest when he has just woken up and often gives us some awesome smiles then.
*Owen is starting to coo. It's just about the cutest thing ever.
*Owen is starting to coo. It's just about the cutest thing ever.
(My cute twinner boys!)
*Owen has perfected rolling over from tummy to back. (He's actually been doing this since before he was a month old! And even once rolled back to tummy - I'm sure it was a fluke though!) He's pretty content on his tummy though, so he usually doesn't roll until he's getting sick of it.
*Owen's a great sleeper. He's sometimes a little more difficult to get to sleep at night (he'll still put himself to sleep for naps, but he's a bit more high maintenance at night), but once he's out he sleeps a 6-8 hour stretch. (He even did one night with a 10 1/2 hour stretch...good baby!)
*Owen was given a beautiful blessing by his dad. It was a wonderful day. (More on this in a future post...)

Owen is one month!
Random things about Owen's first month:
*Owen has what we call the "0 to 60" cry. Most babies work their way up to a full on scream...Owen often starts at a full on scream. (I actually noticed how loud his cry was just moments after he was born. After he let out his first cry I thought it was much louder than I remember Jack's being.)
*Despite what you may think after reading the above statement...Owen is a pretty mellow baby. He may have the "0 to 60" cry, but we don't see it that often.
*Owen is SO easy to put to sleep. 99% of the time you can just lay him in his bed (or my bed, or the couch, or a blanket in the park...he's not picky!), and he'll ususally just fall right asleep. He seems to prefer to put himself to sleep rather than to fall asleep in your arms.

*Owen can sleep through just about anything including vacuuming a few feet away from him and being poked at by his big brother.
*Owen burps louder than anyone else in our family.
*Owen is starting to smile, and it's just the cutest thing EVER!
*One of Owen's nicknames is "piglet" because he sometimes snorts when he breathes. He did this when he was brand new (the nurses thought it was probably that he was a little "over-suctioned" by the firemen after he was born and so it irritated his nasal passages), and has started doing it again the past couple of days (Jack has had a mild cold, and I think Owen might have caught it). Poor little guy!
Owen is such a sweet baby...he has the three of us wrapped around his finger!
