Tuesday's Tasty Treat: Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a recipe that my husband Adam (accidentally) modified from the back of a chocolate chip bag, and they turned out GREAT!

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs (this is where Adam "modified" - the original recipe calls for only 1 egg)
1 (12 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips (if you prefer milk chocolate chips you can substitute)

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl; set aside.
3. Cream butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, beat well. Gradually add in flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Drop by rounded tablespoons, two inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-12 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Let stand for 2 minutes on cookie sheets; move cookies to wire rack to cool.
Yield: approximately 3 dozen cookies.
